Is there something extra that needs to be taken into account when working with the new label object? I ran about 5 of my scripts and not a single one had a label that was still functional. So I created a little test script and could not get a label to show up. I tried using
Code:

$SYSTEM = CREATEOBJECT("Kixtart.System")
$FORM = $SYSTEM.Form()

and
Code:

$FORM = CREATEOBJECT("Kixtart.Form")

to create the form, but I couldn't get the label to show with either method. Here is the sample code I put together for testing.
Code:

BREAK ON
$FORM = CREATEOBJECT("KIXTART.FORM")
$lblLABEL1 = $FORM.LABEL("Label 1")
$lblLABEL1.SIZE   = 60,15
$lblLABEL1.LOCATION = 10,10
$FORM.SHOW
WHILE $FORM.VISIBLE
   $ = EXECUTE($FORM.DOEVENTS)
LOOP

Would appear that the direct property settings are disabled. This works...

Code:

BREAK ON
$FORM = CREATEOBJECT("KIXTART.FORM")
$lblLABEL1 = $FORM.LABEL("Label 1")
$lblLABEL1.SIZE   = 60,15
$lblLABEL1.LOCATION = 10,10
$lblLABEL1.TEXT = "Label 1"
$FORM.SHOW
WHILE $FORM.VISIBLE
   $ = EXECUTE($FORM.DOEVENTS)
LOOP

The label text shows up now. However, there is another change I noticed. Tabs used to show up as spacing, but now show up as a box character. Is this a problem or is it the way it will be now?

Thanks

Tabs are working properly now. One thing I've noticed though, is that I'm going to have to touch all of my scripts to adjust most label sizes. I guess I cut it too close.

ok, i temporarly adjusted the Label margin to zero pixels ... can you give the newest build a try with your scripts - just want to see if it now works exactly like the old label ... then we'll go from there.

Yay! All scripts look normal.

But don't let me stop any improvements in default settings for objects. I'll make changes in my scripts as needed.

I figured as much on this one...Most of my labels are OK, but some are messed up.

When I create labels and checkboxes, I try real hard to make the object only the size it has to be which means I cut a lot of items real close to the actual size. This is the obsessive part of me screaming to be noticed. Scream

But once again, make any changes necessary and I will fix my code accordingly.

Could it be possible the lblExemple.BackColor is damaged?

I use a label that cheges the backcolor according to a certain state of the program. no it is only possible to set the initial color. Changing the color during te rest of the program seems to be impossible.

with build 44 it works.

Wokkeltje: You mind creating a new topic to cover your issue since it is not related to mine?

How will this final build of kixforms handle the label text? I just wanted to make sure this wasn't lost. Thanks
