This version of Kixforms Media Player is based on Windows Media Player 11 - check it out - the graphics are pretty slick. The form is re-sizable. The volume slider is nice and smooth. The repeat and mute buttons are two-state toggle hover buttons.

Posted a new version.

Here's something I don't think has been done before ... a combination MEDIA PLAYER and RSS READER. Thats right - all your tunes and vital information at your fingertips (lol).

It reads the Kixtart.org RSS stream. Doesn't support interval reads and popup slider windows yet - have to click REFRESH for now.

Here's a screen-shot:

Those are part of the XML stream. In a browser window the "Posted By" string renders as bold but the .NET Textbox doesn't know that :=) - stupid box (lol)

That damn Korg RSS feed thought - its weird. Its configured to refresh every 2 minutes but damn - there's one new post there and the raw xml isn't coming down - hmmm. Might have to start doing more of those annoying "test test" posts again :=)

LOL Razz Thanks Wink

I understand that the html tags are part of the string in the xml feed but you could do a join split kinda thing to get rid of the html tags right?

This an awesome script and I'm just nagging about some cosmetic stuff.

Anybody try running this script on Vista. I had the opportunity to give this a quick try - everything was working except no SOUND was coming out of the speakers. I put some tracers into the script and everything appears to be working just fine - no errors. I dont know.

Very nice old man. And here I thought you were just about out to pasture with very few posts these days.

Glad to see you're still at it. I want to pick back up on it soon as long as I can get this other stuff from getting in the way (work non related to KiX)

The MSI installer did not work well on my system but a few cancels and the application opened right up and works.

It was on Server 2003 Enterprise w/SP2 and .NET 1, 2, & 3 already installed.

I don't have any VISTA except on some junk computers on the main floor I relegated to automation - Vista is too annoying in a production user environment.

Sooner or later we'll have no choice but for now we do so no Vista where possible.
