Is it a very severe error, or is it just Henry that isn't on it?

Was it a general db error, or some error in the code that got exploited? Anyone know what really happened?

looking at the type of the corruption makes me believe it was all those search-robots that brought the forums down.

That's why they are blocked from the KiXforms forums, they fill up session tables in a heartbeat ... pesky bots.

Rod.

I will re-create the missing table entries in the DB once I get the green light from Kix webhosting.

we should have the means to get everything back running soon but don't want to go forward if we don't have a point to return to if something does not go as expected (and as we can see, that can happen)

I've searched the internet if it is a known problem... The only thing I've found is that there are a lot of forums with the same error message.

Also I found out there is a known Vulnerability for UBBthreads 6.5.1.1:

Btw. wasn't it Jens who works or had worked for the Boston University? Wink

How does my Alma Mater now get thrown into the mess? Yes, I worked a Boston University and even got my M.Sc from them.

Well I looked at the MySQL tables today and was not able to find the link method that Jooel found. (but I have about 1 hour of MySQL experience)

Jooel was able to correct my account mostly with only minor issues left that him and I can work on.

As for the backups, that should all be taken care of now.

The site runs on Server 2003 and I've written a KiX script to backup the SystemState (via the Volume Shadow Copy Service and NTBACKUP), The Website files, and the MySQL database each day at 13:00 hours via the Task Scheduler

The MySQL database is backed up via the MYSQLDUMP routine by KiX script as well.

The files will be auto deleted once they reach 10 days of age (don't have unlimited space and don't have a tape drive)

Will look at maybe setting up some type of FTP as well maybe once a week of the files over to my site for redundancy.

It is probably your own surf behaviour which caused this.... Wink

I just want to say thanks to all that are working on restoring KORG. As we all know you are doing this of your own free will, and using your free time to correct it.

So again thanks for your efforts. Very Happy
