Question --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have several Windows 2003 servers and on some of them, I had no problem registering KixGui.dll. On others, it gives me an error message.
LoadLibrary(C:\kix32\KixGUI.dll") Failed - The specified module could not be found.

I am able to register kixforms.dll and other .dll, just not this one.
Do I need to install some other software like MDAC or VB runtime? The configuration of the servers is similar, but they have been setup separately over the last 2 years.
Thanks for the help!

Last thing I knew - KiXGUI definitely required the VB6 runtimes.

If you are able to register kixforms, why not considering using that instead?
The benefits:

-> kf has quite a community here, kg has afaik none.
-> kf will be enhanced and developed regarding functionality, I think kg is quite dead (at least I haven't heard from Alex in a long while)
-> If you have problems or short time for porting your gui scripts from kg to kf, post them here, I think there will be someone willing to help you Wink

I did install the vb runtime files, it still didn't work. I also stopped the DEP service for all except Windows and essential programs. rebooted and it still doesn't work. Any other suggestions?

I find I have to copy msvbvm50.dll to system32 and register it to get KiXGUI working on a Win2k3 machine.

Thanks for the tip. I copied and registered the file, and it works like a charm.

I would recommend to upgrade to KiXforms in order to take advantage of a more modern look-and-feel and to be able to distribute the necessary DLLs via GPO.
