Okay, I haven't been KiXforming in a while Wink

Anyhow, can anyone please inform me on how to build an *.exe from a kixforms script? Is it possible to aviod DLL-regging or can it all be smacked together in the *.exe? Anyone with ideas? Smile

You can build the regg'n into the script and package it with ... I think ASE was the one that can bundle kixtart and script into an exe.

Be careful with the needed local admin rights to register kforms.

ASE ? Where do I get that?

What about the HKCU-regging of kixforms? Does it work? Also for the .NET version?

ASE = Admin Script Editor

HKCU for kixforms classic works, can't tell for .net version

I've just put online the first beta of a tool I wrote to package KIX scripts into self executable packages, it's called Kix2Exe (was in a non creative mood when I came up with that name.. Wink)

Current feature list:

Creates single executable packages from your kix script
Adds CRC check to the package to prevent tampering
Uses LZMA compression and UPX header compression to create small executables
Pretokenises and passoword protects the kix script with a random strong password
Add the ability to auto include additional files into your package
Select your own icon file to use for the exe package
Set the title of the console window
Resize the console window to a size that suits your script output
Create silent installers to run background tasks, no console output is shown to the end-user
Run your script with administrator rights by using CPAU
Read values from the command-line utilities by using the GetK2EParam() function inside your script
Automate the packaging process by using batchmode, no console window is shown and errorlevels are set afther the build process
$EXEPath, $EXEName and $EXEParam variables are available in the packaged KIX script
Brand your package with name, description, version and copyright

You can download the current version here:

http://kix2exe.ramonitor.nl/kix2exe-v100B02-installer.exe

Help file is included, but most is self explaning I guess.

Regards,
Senser

Hi there,

there´s another tool to generate executable files:

KIXCRYPT.EXE
WKIXCRYPT.EXE (for Win-Applications)

This tool freeware and was developed by Richard Howarth. You can download it here: http://www.kixhelp.com/Downloads/kixcrypt305a.zip

How to do:
Enlarge the zip-archive in your kix-folder (where KIX32.EXE /WKIX32.EXE are) and run the commandline. Change into the KiX-folder and run that command:
Code:
kixcrypt.exe YOURFILE.kix

Futhermore you can set some parameters:
Code:
kixcrypt.exe YOURFILE.kix -d     - activate debug-mode

Code:
kixcrypt.exe YOURFILE.kix -p "PASSWORD"   - generate exe-file with integrated password

Code:
kixcrypt.exe YOURFILE.kix -m $s="My first application" $n="Version 1.0"     - set file-information

This tool works with both script types KiXtart and KiXforms. For more details see this link: http://www.kixtart.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=108071

Bye, Eddie
