I would like to see ability to set default properties for controls.
as example, I always create my labels less than 20pixels. Most of the time, 19. And I don't wanna keep changing it manually each time.

Could the flashing of the screen be dropped?
when I add a new control to the form or activate a control or do actually anything, the whole screen flashes.
this occurs whether I do have the property grid visible or not, so it's not because the update of that does it.

hmm...
I think the flashing is not about the editor.
looking at the cpu load and it seems that my P3 system can't handle the load nicely.

this is where one sees the difference of script and program.
VS2003 and 2005 express work just fine without all that flashing. Smile

My biggest wish for all the designers that I have seen...

Would be a way to alter the design and preserve any code that was in the file.

I know that this is a lot to ask......

I ask the same, but in the meantime...

parent property.
If I alter my design, I don't want to go again all the painfull flashy thing but would like to reUse my original control stuff.
say, if I add a tabpage, and I would like to move a control to it, instead of reCreating it, I could just change the control parent property from form3 to tabpage2.
the property is there as one can see by viewing the code:
$nul = $TabControl1TabPage2.Controls.Add($ListConnectedUsers)

sadly, one just can't alter it.

I second the "Parent Property" feature!

I would love to be able to quickly create a basic layout and once I feel the Form is feature complete, pretty it up with GroupBoxes, Tabs etc...

At the moment I have to predict the final logical layout and find that after using it for a while and want to make a change or after I revise a method, the form needs to be either done from scratch (renaming everything to match the old version) or hand coding the changes. That's ok for the odd additional check box but simply relocating say 10 controls into a GroupBox can be a nightmare.

What would be very nice is to be able to drag an existing control over a container control and be asked if I wish to make it the new parent. That would take care of changing the Parent and location in one step. ..Maybe make a preference to allow this as a default or prompted/non-prompted behaviour?
