Hi there... Very Happy

I now had some time for the new fantastic Kixforms.net. What a difference from the earlier version of Kixstart I used.

Coding is also alot different I think.

Eg. the small script here down below shows a form with 3 checkboxes. I want to click one of the checkboxes and hit the Submit button to start the choosen program. How does that work with Kixforms.Net???

In the earlier version I had an 'OnClick' option - now I can't find it.

Please give me a hint.

/Ramalam

Code:

Break On
$System = CreateObject("Kixforms.System")
If Not $System
   $nul= MessageBox("KiXforms.Net Not Initiated. This Script Will Now Close.","Error",16)
   Quit()
EndIf
$nul = $System.Application.EnableVisualStyles

$Form5 = $System.Form()
$Form5.Left = 10
$Form5.StartPosition = 0  ;FormStartPosition_Manual
$Form5.Size = $System.Size(433,187) ;(Width,Height)
$Form5.Text = "Test Form"
$Form5.Top = 11

$GroupBox1 = $System.GroupBox()
$GroupBox1.Height = 115
$GroupBox1.Left = 150
$GroupBox1.Text = "Program Selector"
$GroupBox1.Top = 20
$GroupBox1.Width = 250
$nul = $Form5.Controls.Add($GroupBox1)

$Button1 = $System.Button()
$Button1.Left = 120
$Button1.Text = "Submit"
$Button1.Top = 70
$Button1.Width = 110
$nul = $GroupBox1.Controls.Add($Button1)

$CheckBox1 = $System.CheckBox()
$CheckBox1.Left = 10
$CheckBox1.Text = "Load Calculator"
$CheckBox1.Top = 30
$nul = $GroupBox1.Controls.Add($CheckBox1)

$CheckBox3 = $System.CheckBox()
$CheckBox3.Left = 10
$CheckBox3.Text = "Load Notepad"
$CheckBox3.Top = 70
$nul = $GroupBox1.Controls.Add($CheckBox3)

$CheckBox2 = $System.CheckBox()
$CheckBox2.Left = 10
$CheckBox2.Text = "Load MS Paint"
$CheckBox2.Top = 50
$nul = $GroupBox1.Controls.Add($CheckBox2)

$PictureBox1 = $System.PictureBox()
$PictureBox1.BorderStyle = 1  ;FixedSingle
$PictureBox1.Height = 115
$PictureBox1.Left = 20
$PictureBox1.Top = 20
$PictureBox1.Width = 115
$nul = $Form5.Controls.Add($PictureBox1)

$PictureBox1.Image = PictureBox1Image()

$Form5.AcceptButton = $Button1
$Form5.Show  ;Displays the Form

While $Form5.Visible
   $Nul = Execute($Form5.DoEvents())
Loop
Exit 0

Hi Gargoyle... Very Happy

Thanks for your answer....

I do have a few more questions. Maybe you can help me out there to.

1) Is KFD .NET version only used to build the GUI? I cannot add any code through the program.

2) Is it possible somehow to import a KIX file made with an ealier version of KFD???

3) Is it possible to get some examples showing how the different controls are working???

4) If I make changes to a KIX file I cannot see the changes in KFD .NET

That would be correct, one day Benny might add this functionality, but as it stands now it is a designer only...

Benny will have to answer that one

Look in the .NET forum, there are lots of examples in there.

Same answer as #1. KFD is just the designer. If you make changes to any of it outside of KFD it will not be reflected as you are not changing the KFD build file. There two files created by KFD, one for the script and one for KFD to store all of the values for the form that you just created.

Benny may be able to expand further upon these answers

Hi Ramalam,
In answer to your questions;
1 – KFD.Net is only to build the gui, it is not a script editor. There are several good editors out there just to name a few,
ASE (Admin Script Editor), KiXPad and KiXtarter

2 – If you are speaking of ‘KiXforms Designer Beta1, 2 or 3’ then no, If you are speaking of KFD .Net 1.x .kfd files then yes, if there was no controls deleted in the process of creating the form. In ver 1.x there were problems with the saving of forms that contained deleted controls. If you are speaking of any .kix file then no.

3 – There are numerous examples of several controls here in this forum, there is also the .chm help file included in the .zip file that contains the 'KiXforms .Net' install file, in addition ‘iTripoli’s TypeLibrary Viewer is also very helpful. There are many well versed members of this Forum that would be glad to offer any support you might need as well as give you any example of any control(s). All you need to do is ask for an example of what ever control you are looking for.

4 – KFD .Net saves two kinds of files;
A - .kix – a generated KiX script. This file is the output file to be used in production and can not be loaded into KFD .Net
B - .kfd – a project file containing the created form. This file allows the user to reload a project for further alteration.
