I have the following code that I did in KD.Net designer this morning.

When I try to open it again to continue working on it, it only loads partially and then I am unable to do anything with it.

Code:
Break On
$System = CreateObject("Kixforms.System")
If Not $System
   $nul= MessageBox("KiXforms.Net Not Initiated. This Script Will Now Close.","Error",16)
   Quit()
EndIf

$Form1 = $System.Form()
$Form1.Left = 310
$Form1.StartPosition = 0  ;FormStartPosition_Manual
$Form1.Size = $System.Size(234,254) ;(Width,Height)
$Form1.Text = "Setup"
$Form1.Top = 223

$ComboBox1 = $System.ComboBox()
$ComboBox1.DropDownWidth = 72
$ComboBox1.Height = 21
$ComboBox1.ItemHeight = 13
$ComboBox1.Left = 0
$ComboBox1.MaxDropDownItems = 6
$ComboBox1.Text = ""
$ComboBox1.Top = 47
$ComboBox1.Width = 72
$nul = $Form1.Controls.Add($ComboBox1)

$ComboBox1Item0 = $ComboBox1.Items.Add("2")
$ComboBox1Item1 = $ComboBox1.Items.Add("3")
$ComboBox1Item2 = $ComboBox1.Items.Add("4")
$ComboBox1Item3 = $ComboBox1.Items.Add("5")
$ComboBox1Item4 = $ComboBox1.Items.Add("6")

$Label1 = $System.Label()
$Label1.BorderStyle = 1  ;FixedSingle
$Label1.Left = 1
$Label1.Text = "How many"
$Label1.TextAlign = 16  ;MiddleLeft
$Label1.Top = 22
$nul = $Form1.Controls.Add($Label1)

$TextBox1 = $System.TextBox()
$TextBox1.Left = 122
$TextBox1.Text = ""
$TextBox1.Top = 49
$nul = $Form1.Controls.Add($TextBox1)

$TextBox2 = $System.TextBox()
$TextBox2.Left = 123
$TextBox2.Text = ""
$TextBox2.Top = 80
$nul = $Form1.Controls.Add($TextBox2)

$TextBox3 = $System.TextBox()
$TextBox3.Left = 123
$TextBox3.Text = ""
$TextBox3.Top = 111
$nul = $Form1.Controls.Add($TextBox3)

$TextBox4 = $System.TextBox()
$TextBox4.Left = 123
$TextBox4.Text = ""
$TextBox4.Top = 141
$nul = $Form1.Controls.Add($TextBox4)

$TextBox5 = $System.TextBox()
$TextBox5.Left = 123
$TextBox5.Text = ""
$TextBox5.Top = 170
$nul = $Form1.Controls.Add($TextBox5)

$TextBox6 = $System.TextBox()
$TextBox6.Left = 124
$TextBox6.Text = ""
$TextBox6.Top = 199
$nul = $Form1.Controls.Add($TextBox6)

$Button1 = $System.Button()
$Button1.Left = 3
$Button1.Text = "Next"
$Button1.Top = 200
$nul = $Form1.Controls.Add($Button1)

$Form1.Show  ;Displays the Form

While $Form1.Visible
   $Nul = Execute($Form1.DoEvents())
Loop
Exit 0

This is what shows in designer when I look at the code page...
Code:
Break On
$System = CreateObject("Kixforms.System")
If Not $System
   $nul= MessageBox("KiXforms.Net Not Initiated. This Script Will Now Close.","Error",16)
   Quit()
EndIf

$ = $System.Form()
$.Anchor = 0  ;None
$.ControlBox = -1  ;True
$.FormBorderStyle = 0  ;FormBorderStyle_None
$.Left = 198
$.MaximizeBox = 0  ;False
$.MinimizeBox = 0  ;False
$.ShowInTaskbar = 0  ;False
$.StartPosition = 0  ;FormStartPosition_Manual
$.Size = $System.Size(0,0) ;(Width,Height)
$.Text = ""
$.Top = 0

$.Show  ;Displays the Form

While $.Visible
   $Nul = Execute($.DoEvents())
Loop
Exit 0

None of the tab pages show up for the controls.

I did recieve some type of error when I was trying to delete a control, but like a bad user, I just clicked on OK and now it is all broke..... I even tried recreating the form from scratch, and it is doing the exact same thing to me.

I looked through my event logs but did not find anything that would help.

The error that you describe I discovered just lately and I believe that I have fixed it in the soon to be released version 1.0.0.42, I hope in the next few days, in the mean time could you post and attach the .kfd file that you saved for this project and I will attempt to rebuild it.

i am sorry maybe i didn't ask very clearly, did you save the project by clicking on the Save Button (looks like a Disk), it will save it as a .kfd file not a .kix file?

Yes I did it with the save icon, but it does allow for alternate file extensions and since my other script that calls these all have .kix in the names, I stuck with that and changed it to .kix from .kfd

when you click the save button it will bring up the save as dialog and by default the save as type is .kfd, this is for a reason, the project files (.kfd) are an .ini type file. if you change the file type to a .kix and later when you generate the script and save it as the same name it will overwrite the project file and you will not be able to open it again. It never crossed my mind that someone would try to save a project as a .kix, so this is something i must fix. without that file i can not rebuild your project, i appoligize.

So I need to recreate the form, and save it as a kfd?
What about the hidden settings.kfd file. Should I delete that as well?

Will recreate it tomorrow and see what happens.

What is the hidden settings.kfd file used for? Is this something that would have to be distrubted with the script that I am creating?

PS I love some of your strings in there.

the file hidden settings.kfd is only a sample project, meant more for a laugh. all you need to do is open it as a project you know with the folder button.

I am glad you like that, in the ver (1.0.0.42) that i have given to Shawn, for the next release of his kf.net, kfd.net has the ability to allow the user you pick an image file, .bmp, .png, .jpg, .gif and animated .gif's for the image property and convert it to a base64 string and add it to the code for the user. in addition to a few other nice bells and whistles.

Ok I see what you are doing now. There are two files created one for the designer and then the .kix script itself.

Now I know better Embarassed

Things are working again, thanks for the clarification.
