The DataXXX classes are still very much under development. In terms of using SQL etc, that will be there one day, but not today. Currently can only create tables and datasets "in memory", and plug them into the DataGrid.

In terms of the DataGrid, it is indeed an odd bird. I can now see why there was so much complaining about it. It is very counter-intuitive and somewhat convoluted and difficult to use. This is the primary reason why the new GridView was developed for .NET 2.0 - to compensate for the goofy DataGrid.

Anyway, I have a script that is built around the DataGrid - that I am using for my own testing - can post it if anyone want to experiment and discuss further.
