I am trying to figure out a good way to allow for someone to drag information from one listview to another. I can't figure out how to tell when someone has let go of the mouse button after the mouse has entered the second listview. I don't want to start moving the data until after the mouse button is let go inside the second listview. I am not sure if this is even possible at the moment. Has anyone tried something like this?

I'd love to get drag-drop working too (I mean REALLY working) - but I can't keep up with you man ;0) Nice idea. Not sure if something can be "kludged" for this or not (I mean "kludge" in the nicest sense of the word) Wink

If OnMouseMove was added to the listview I could check to see if the mouse button state had changed as the mouse moves. After looking at the help file I see the listview does not have this but quite a few other objects do.

I have got drag and drop working with mouseenter and mouseleave events but that is not exactly what I want. I was excited I got that far.

I have been working on version 2 code and I have been trying to add as much frilly stuff for the people that I can.

Think OnMouseMove works for ListView, like this:

Code:

Break On

$System = CreateObject("Kixtart.System")

$Form = $System.Form()
$Form.Font = $System.Font("Verdana",8.25)

$ListView = $Form.ListView()
$ListView.Dock = "Fill"
$ListView.Columns.Count = 10
$ListView.Items.Count = 5
$ListView.GridLines = 1
$ListView.OnMouseMove = "MouseMove()"

$Form.Center()
$Form.Show()
While $Form.Visible
 $= Execute($Form.DoEvents)
Loop

Exit 1

Function MouseMove()
 ?"x=" + $ListView.MouseX + " y=" + $ListView.MouseY
EndFunction
