When I want to set the default text in a combobox this worked for both styles 'DropDown' and 'DropDownList'.

Now with the latest build this only works with the Normal DropDown, not with the List.

Thanks for all the other improvements you already made.

Can you show me some code to demonstrate this problem ... btw, might want to check-out OnGotFocus and OnLostFocus in the current build, should be working now.

Here is a small exemple of the problem. The default value is not set to the second combobox
Code:
Break On
$System = CreateObject("Kixtart.System")

;KD START

;************* Form **************
$Form = $System.Form()
$Form.FontSize = 7,8
$Form.Height = 368
$Form.Left = 27
$Form.Text = "KiXforms Designer Template"
$Form.Top = 35
$Form.Width = 381
;**************************************

;************* ComboBox1 **************
$ComboBox1 = $Form.Controls.ComboBox()
$ComboBox1.DropDownWidth = 121
$ComboBox1.FontSize = 7,8
$ComboBox1.Height = 24
$ComboBox1.Left = 135
$ComboBox1.Sorted = "False"
$ComboBox1.Top = 60
$ComboBox1.Width = 121
;**************************************

;************* ComboBox2 **************
$ComboBox2 = $Form.Controls.ComboBox()
$ComboBox2.DropDownStyle = 2
$ComboBox2.DropDownWidth = 121
$ComboBox2.FontSize = 7,8
$ComboBox2.Height = 24
$ComboBox2.Left = 135
$ComboBox2.Sorted = "False"
$ComboBox2.Top = 90
$ComboBox2.Width = 121
;**************************************

;************* Button1 **************
$Button1 = $Form.Controls.Button()
$Button1.FontSize = 7,8
$Button1.Height = 23
$Button1.Left = 135
$Button1.Text = "Set default value"
$Button1.Top = 135
$Button1.Width = 120
$Button1.OnClick = "fnDefaultValue()"
;**************************************

;************* Button2 **************
$Button2 = $Form.Controls.Button()
$Button2.FontSize = 7,8
$Button2.Height = 23
$Button2.Left = 135
$Button2.Text = "Disable both"
$Button2.Top = 165
$Button2.Width = 120
$Button2.OnClick = "fnDisable()"
;**************************************

;************* Button3 **************
$Button3 = $Form.Controls.Button()
$Button3.FontSize = 7,8
$Button3.Height = 23
$Button3.Left = 135
$Button3.Text = "Enable both"
$Button3.Top = 195
$Button3.Width = 120
$Button3.OnClick = "fnEnable()"
;**************************************

;KD END
$ComboBox1.AddItem("Value 1")
$ComboBox1.AddItem("Value 2")
$ComboBox1.AddItem("Value 3")
$ComboBox1.AddItem("Value 4")
$ComboBox2.AddItem("Value 1")
$ComboBox2.AddItem("Value 2")
$ComboBox2.AddItem("Value 3")
$ComboBox2.AddItem("Value 4")

$Form.Show
While $Form.Visible
   $=Execute($Form.DoEvents())
Loop
Exit 1

Function fnDisable()
   $ComboBox1.Enabled = "False"
   $ComboBox2.Enabled = "False"
EndFunction

Function fnEnable()
   $ComboBox1.Enabled = "True"
   $ComboBox2.Enabled = "True"
EndFunction

Function fnDefaultValue()
   $ComboBox1.Text = "Value 3"
   $ComboBox2.Text = "Value 3"
EndFunction

tnx,

in my test program this is working fine.

but in my complete program it is not working, strange because I do just the same.

I think my program is OK because when I set the dropdownstyle to 1, there is no problem.

I found what the problem was in my program.

I did first object.Text = "Value1"

after that I did object.DropDownStyle = 2

so for me this problem is solved I think, but maybe this issue could be fixed because it is not complete normal that the order of setting the properties can effect the result.

You right, the order of properties shouldn't effect the combobox, but under the covers it has a major effect, which at the end of the day, shouldn't be "seen" as an issue - im just saying certain ComboBox properties can do this ... so I look to fix this ...

the ComboBox.Text = "xxx" is not working completely OK for a DropDownList.

If you change the dropdownstyle after you set the text value, the combobox looks empty
