The previous final release of the KiXforms Classic library was well over 2 years ago. Since then there have been 55 development builds, the most recent of which has been promoted to final build status. There are simply too many changes to list since v2.3.0, suffice to say that this is the most feature rich release yet.

Thats very good news. But, mhm, maybe i missed something, but how am i able to use all the features without knowing what they are? I took a (quick) look at the new helpfile, but theres no changelog either...
I saw theres an msi-file in the new package. Whats the purpose of it?
I hate to repeat myself, but this would be so much easier with a wiki...

cheers, rob

Double-click it and follow your nose and it will install.

It's nice with new releases Smile

But yes I agree, the documentation and help-resources must be better for KiXforms to really kick-off. Whether this is through working hard with the .chm (which is a really good form of help) or through a wiki, or both, really doesn't matter to me Smile

What I miss in the .chm is a good explanation of all functions and their properties etc, along with samples (just like the regular kixtart.chm).

And yes, the MSI also needs explaining even though there's comments about it right here in the forum.

Yeah. Smile But what? Just the Kixforms.dll, or the new fancy editor which allows you to play tetris while putting together a form? The point is, you download the package and you dont know. The helpfile still talks about the simple regsvr-way.
As i statet earlier i have the highest respect for them who contribute in developing kixforms and i can fully understand that they dont have much time and/or motivation to do all the documentation-stuff as well. Thats why a wiki could help. Cause everyone seems to know a little bit others dont.

But a changelog? Come on, a simple bloody changelog for the first release in two years?

I read somewhere (think it was a shithouse wall) that the paperwork is always the last job to get done. Developing is fun but documenting takes a lot of discipline.
